US Army develops armoured turret for anti-tank missile gunners
US Army engineers at Picatinny Arsenal, along with US Marine Corps (USMC), developed an armoured turret for anti-tank missile gunners.
The enhanced protection will provide improved survivability to tubed-launched, optically tracked, wire-guided (TOW) missile gunners without the need for burdening the vehicles with additional weight.

Known as TOW Objective Gunner Protection Kit (TOGPK 2.0), the new turret provides an accurate balance of armour and weapon manoeuvrability with situation awareness.
US MDA identifies Kauai military site for $1.9bn defence radar
The US Missile Defense Agency (MDA) identified Kauai military site as a possible location for its proposed $1.9bn Homeland Defense Radar-Hawaii.
The flat facing radar will be sited at the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) at Barking Sands on Kauai’s west coast. It is expected to be 80ft-90ft tall and about 50ft wide.
Previously, three sites were being studied for the radar, as mandated by the Congress.

Northrop Grumman completes free flight missile testing of CIRCM
Northrop Grumman announced successful free flight missile testing of its Common Infrared Countermeasure (CIRCM) system for the US Army.
The CIRCM system was tested at White Sands Missile Range and is designed to protect specific types of US Army aircraft against infrared-guided missile threats. It was developed on an open architecture to enable its integration with existing systems.
CIRCM is equipped with advanced Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) technology, a compact pointer/tracker and a lightweight COTS processor to achieve specific requirements.

The US Army selected QinetiQ North America and Textron to build four light and four medium robotic combat vehicles (RCVs) respectively.

Finland and Latvia reached an agreement to develop a common armoured wheeled vehicle system.
A technical agreement for the development programme has been signed by Finland Defence Minister Antti Kaikkonen and Latvia counterpart Artis Pabriks.
Under the cooperation programme, a Patria 6×6 armoured wheeled vehicle chassis platform has been selected for the development.
BAE Systems wins DARPA contract to develop mixed-signal electronics
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) awarded a contract to BAE Systems to build the next generation of mixed-signal electronics.
Under the $8m contract, BAE Systems FAST Labs research and development team will design and develop wafer-scale technology on a silicon foundry platform in collaboration with programme foundries.
The technology could enable new Department of Defense (DoD) applications, including high capacity, robust communications, radars and precision sensors.
