A recently filed patent (Publication Number: US20230320016A1) describes a rack designed to receive electronic devices. The rack includes multiple receiving slots, with at least one of the slots featuring a scissor mechanism. This scissor mechanism consists of two groups of scissor legs connected to each other and arranged on the lateral sides of the rack.

To support the scissor mechanism, the rack includes support rails that extend from the rear end to the forward end of the rack. These support rails allow for smooth rolling of support wheels, which are positioned adjacent to the mounting interface of the scissor mechanism. Additionally, guide rails are provided at the rear end of the rack to ensure proper movement of the scissor mechanism.

The patent also mentions the inclusion of a damper to control the movement of the scissor mechanism when it reaches its extended end position. A guide structure associated with the mounting interface helps guide the scissor mechanism, and it can include a guide slot or a guide rail. In some embodiments, a curved pivot guide merges into a straight guide slot.

The mounting interface of the scissor mechanism is connected to the rack through a pivot connection. A damper is provided to control the movement of the mounting interface when it approaches its maximum pivot angle. Additionally, a latching mechanism is included to prevent the mounting interface from pivoting when in a latched condition. This latching mechanism consists of an abutment located at a vertical post of the rack and a pivotable latch associated with the guide structure of the mounting interface.

In another embodiment of the rack, there are four vertical posts and multiple receiving slots, each featuring two guide rails. The scissor mechanism in these slots is connected to the rear posts and has a mounting interface for mechanical connection to a server or a measuring device. The guide structure associated with the mounting interface includes a guide slot with a vertical slot portion to accommodate vertical displacement and a curved portion with a center of curvature coinciding with the pivot axis of the scissor mechanism. A latching mechanism is also present in this embodiment to prevent pivoting of the mounting interface when in a latched condition.
