A recently filed patent (Publication Number: US20230274868A1) describes an electromagnet with several unique features. The electromagnet includes a pre-assembly unit consisting of a guide element and a coil, as well as an armature that can move translationally within the guide element. The electromagnet also features a core with an axially extending annular protrusion into which the pre-assembly unit is inserted.

In one embodiment, the core's annular protrusion has an inner peripheral surface with an annular shoulder, which is in contact with the guide element. The guide element itself is composed of a sleeve and a mounting protrusion that extends radially from the outer peripheral surface of the sleeve. This mounting protrusion is attached to the axially extending annular protrusion of the core.

The guide element and armature surfaces that face each other can be coated with a nickel or zinc-nickel coating. Additionally, the pre-assembly unit includes a cover and a plug that is electrically connected to the coil. The cover is fixed to the guide element and can be integrally configured with the plug. The cover can be interlockingly or adhesively fastened to the guide element.

The pre-assembly unit may also include the armature and a spring arranged between the cover and the armature. The core has a central cylindrical portion and a connecting portion between the central cylindrical portion and the axially extending annular protrusion. This connecting portion can be pressed, screwed, or adhesively bonded to a flow housing.

The core also has a centering recess, and the flow housing has a centering element that interacts with this recess. The method of mounting the electromagnet involves assembling the various components into the pre-assembly unit and then inserting the unit into the axially extending annular protrusion of the core. The core can be further secured to the flow housing through screwing, pressing, or adhesively bonding.

Overall, this patent describes an electromagnet with a unique design that allows for easy assembly and secure attachment of the various components. The use of coatings on the guide element and armature surfaces enhances their performance. The patent also outlines a method for mounting the electromagnet, ensuring its stability and functionality.
