The top five companies accounted for 10% of patenting activity
Analysis of patenting activity by companies shows that Kubota filed the most robotics patents within the aerospace, defence & security industry in Q3 2024. The company filed 39 robotics-related patents in the quarter, compared with 2 in the previous quarter. It was followed by Wing Aviation with 25 robotics patent filings, Boeing (16 filings), and Hyundai Motor (15 filings) in Q3 2024.
Patenting activity was driven by the US with a 33% share of total patent filings
