The top five companies accounted for 21% of patenting activity
Analysis of patenting activity by companies shows that RTX filed the most environmental sustainability patents within the aerospace, defence & security industry in Q3 2024. The company filed 43 environmental sustainability-related patents in the quarter, compared with 43 in the previous quarter. It was followed by General Electric with 33 environmental sustainability patent filings, Kolon Industries (15 filings), and Kolon (15 filings) in Q3 2024.
Patenting activity was driven by the US with a 38% share of total patent filings
