US General Services Administration Federal Systems Integration and Management Center has awarded a $769m task order to Alion Science and Technology for joint capability embedded technology insertion and integration (JCETII).
The task order has been awarded under the US agency’s One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services contract.
The JCETII programme has been designed to expand upon current intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), and cyber capabilities.
The effort will help provide the US Department of Defense’s Special Operations Forces with capabilities and technologies for observation, visualisation and collaboration among tactical, operational and strategic troops.
Alion Science and Technology president and chief executive officer Steve Schorer said: “This win moves Alion to the forefront as a large-scale systems integrator, with cutting-edge ISR solutions that directly support the warfighter.
“Our advanced remote sensing research and engineering capabilities, combined with our bleeding edge artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technology solutions, make this an ideal partnership to bring the best of the best to enable warfighters to transform information from innovative platforms into intelligence in support of the combatant commander missions.”
