Leonardo DRS has received a contract worth $800m from the US Army to deliver sensor systems in support of the US Department of Defense’s (DoD) electro optical/infrared (EO/IR) programmes.
The company will produce the next-generation, lightweight precision laser targeting system called Rangefinder 3, an advanced infrared Family of Weapon Sights-Individual (FWS-I) thermal weapon sight, as well as stabilised infrared camera sensors called Integrated Vision System (IVS), under the contract.

General Dynamics Land Systems has secured a $383m contract modification to modernise additional Stryker flat-bottom vehicles to A1 or Double-V Hull (DVH) Engineering Change Proposal 1 configuration.
The company will update up to 173 Stryker vehicles to Stryker A1 configuration, which offers improved survivability against mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
The contractual work will be performed at various facilities of General Dynamics Land System and at the Joint System Manufacturing Center in Lima, Ohio, until April 2021.
BAE Systems has secured an order from the US Department of Defense (DoD) to deliver an additional 18 units of M777 155mm ultra-lightweight howitzers to the US Army.
The howitzer deliveries are scheduled to start in 2021.
The M777 towed artillery system provides enhanced artillery capability along with increased tactical and strategic mobility.
