Airbus Helicopters Inc has secured a $273m contract to deliver an additional 35 UH-72A Lakota light utility helicopters to the US Army.
The deal covers the associated technical and flight operator manuals, as well as programme management services.

Once delivered, 18 of the new helicopters will be deployed by the US Army’s Initial Entry Rotary Wing mission at Fort Rucker, Alabama, US, while the remainder will be used for the Observer / Controller mission at the army’s combat training centres.
The Government of Australia has selected Rheinmetall AG for the supply of next-generation 8×8 combat reconnaissance vehicles to the Australian Army as part of the Land 400 Phase 2 Project.
Rheinmetall is expected to deliver up to 211 new generation Boxer 8×8 vehicles equipped with advanced Lance 30mm turret, through the Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE).

By GlobalDataRaytheon Co Missile Systems has been awarded a contract modification by the US Army Contracting Command in support of the tube-launched, optically tracked, wireless-guided TOW-2A and TOW-2B missiles.
The deal will require Raytheon to conduct product verification tests, pre-qualification tests, and integrated electronic safe and arm qualification tests for the TOW-2A and TOW-2B missiles.
The contractual work will be performed in Farmington, New Mexico, and Tucson, Arizona, in the US until June 2019.
Vector Aerospace has received a contract for the maintenance of Gazelle AH Mk1 helicopter fleet, which has been operational with the UK Army Air Corps (AAC) since 1973.
Maintenance support services will be provided at the company’s Fleetlands facility in Gosport, Hampshire, UK, from April.
Gazelle AH Mk1 helicopters are currently undergoing a safety modification upgrade at the Fleetlands facility.
The deal also includes options to extend the contract until June 2022.
DynCorp International LLC has received a $17.04m modification contract to provide aviation field maintenance services to the US Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM).
It was awarded by the US Army Contracting Command under a foreign military sales programme.
The contractual work will be performed in Honduras, Kuwait, and Germany until December 2018.
