The Latvian National Armed Forces has entered a new agreement with Polaris Government and Defense for the procurement of new vehicles through the US Government’s foreign military sales (FMS) programme.
Under the $500,000 contract, Polaris will be responsible for delivering an undisclosed number of its MRZR 2 side-by-side vehicles, and its SPORTSMAN 6×6 and MV850 all-terrain vehicles (ATVs).
The two-year deal also includes the supply of spare parts for the vehicles, in addition to operator and maintenance training.
Polaris Government and Defense International Business Development director Doug Malikowski said: “Latvia’s contract for MRZR 2 and ATVs will greatly enhance the mobility of their fleet in the Baltics, positively impacting their tactical advantage and support efforts to reinforce Latvia borders.”
The vehicles are specially designed for a wide range of uses, such as border patrol, rapid personnel deployment, command and control, and supply transport missions.
The new Polaris ultralight and all-terrain vehicles will be used mainly to ensure border security.
