GE Aerospace has been contracted to provide 210 T700 engines for the Polish Armed Forces’ fleet of 96 Boeing AH-64E Apache Guardian helicopters.

As part of the agreement, WZL-1 will offer licensed maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) support for the engines, as well as for the Sikorsky S-70i Black Hawk and Leonardo AW149 and AW101 helicopters currently in service with the Polish military.
Additionally, the WAT will oversee training programmes for of Polish technicians, military personnel, and WZL-1 employees.
This includes specialised training on the T700 and CT7 engines, ensuring that staff are well-prepared to maintain the helicopter fleet and support the future engineering needs of the Polish Armed Forces.

By GlobalDataThis cooperative agreement is set to enhance Poland’s defence industrial base by providing MRO technology, training, and technical assistance, ensuring self-sufficiency in sustaining the Apache fleet.
Boeing’s AH-64E Apache is a fully integrated and optimised for battle attack helicopter.
The company notes that the agreement also opens the door for future collaborations on its combat engines, including the F110, F414, and F404.
GE Aerospace Defense & Systems president and CEO Amy Gowder said: “This T700 engine is the engine of choice for medium-sized helicopters with its exceptional performance, reliability, and durability.
“This order strengthens our relationship with Poland and expands the Polish Armed Forces’ GE Aerospace-powered fleet, which includes F404-powered FA-50 fighter jets, T700-powered Sikorsky S-70i Black Hawks, and CT7-powered Leonardo AW149 and AW101 helicopters.”
The T700/CT7 engine family powers a variety of military and civilian aircraft across more than 50 countries.
These engines have more than 25,000 units delivered and 130 million flight hours logged.
In Europe alone, more than 1,300 T700/CT7 engines have been delivered or ordered by 20 military and paramilitary customers.
The production and delivery of these engines will be executed under a contract with the US Army, facilitated by the US government’s foreign military sales (FMS) process.
GE Aerospace was previously awarded an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract by the US Army in June 2024 to produce up to 950 T700 engines to support various branches of the US military, FMS, and other government agencies through 2029.
