The US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has awarded a new other transaction agreement (OTA) to Tesseract Ventures to advance the development of its next-generation drone technology.
Financial details of the OTA remain undisclosed.
Tesseract Ventures’ drone technology, named the Special Warfighter Assistive Robotic Machine (SWARM), will help in enhancing the capabilities of the USSOCOM and the Special Operation Forces (SOF).
SWARM, which will be interoperable with a range of systems, will serve as a new, versatile nano drone featuring smart payload.
It is composed of a Nano First Person View (FPV) drone, a smart payload system, and smart payloads, all designed to revolutionise surveillance as well as tactical response operations for Special Operations Command warfighters.
The nano drone is equipped with a multi-function camera system that includes high-resolution, and thermal, and night imaging capabilities, making it suitable for rapid deployment in various scenarios.
