Architecture and Engineering Occupations drive social responsibility-related hiring activity

Architecture and Engineering Occupations, with a share of 13%, emerged as the top social responsibility-related job roles within the aerospace, defence and security industry in Q2 2024, with new job postings drop by 3% quarter-on-quarter. Management Occupations came in second with a share of 13% in Q2 2024, with new job postings rising by 14% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent social responsibility roles include Computer and Mathematical Occupations with a 9% share in Q2 2024, Production Occupations with a 9% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in aerospace, defence and security industry accounted for 37% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q2 2024 were Lockheed Martin, RTX, Airbus, General Dynamics, and Boeing. Together they accounted for a combined share of 37% of all social responsibility-related new jobs in the aerospace, defence and security industry.

Lockheed Martin posted 1,229 social responsibility-related new jobs in Q2 2024, RTX 770 jobs, Airbus 732 jobs, General Dynamics 705 jobs, and Boeing 538 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 68.06% share of total new job postings, Q2 2024

The largest share of social responsibility-related new job postings in the aerospace, defence and security industry in Q2 2024 was in the US with 68.06% followed by the UK (7.75%) and Canada (4.80%). The share represented by the US was 0 percentage points lower than the 68.41% share it accounted for in Q1 2024.
