General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies has won a US$109m contract to provide specialised satellite communications earth terminals and support services for Increment One of the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T) programme.

The US Army Communications-Electronics Command contract will see General Dynamics supply 299 Satellite Transportable Terminals (STT) and two Unit Hub SATCOM Trucks (UHST) as well as Ka-band upgrade kits and spares.

General Dynamics says the next-generation STT terminal can be configured to operate over Ku- or Ka-band satellite frequencies.

The new UHST provides Ku- or Ka-band operation and increased modem capacity.

General Dynamics says both technologies are interoperable with previous units.
