The US Army has contracted Oshkosh for an additional 1,700 MRAP (mine-resistant ambush-protected) all-terrain vehicles (M-ATV) under a $1.06bn deal.
The M-ATV has been integrated with the TAK-4 independent suspension system to provide greater mobility.
The delivery order follows an initial $1.05bn order for 2,244 M-ATVs on 30 June from the US Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command (TACOM LCMC).
Plasan North America will provide the advanced armour solution for the M-ATVs.
The delivery of the vehicles is scheduled for February 2010.
