Russia’s arms exporter Rosoboronexport has expressed interest in paving the way for military-technological cooperation with the sultanate of Brunei.
According to reports, Brunei sultan and head of state Hassanal Bolkiah opened talks with the Rosoboronexport officials, during his visit to Russia, on the feasibility of future arms purchases from Moscow.

Rosoboronexport general director Viktor Komardin said the recent meeting would initiate a mutually beneficial military-technological cooperation between the two nations.
The sultan was given a presentation of Russian-made air defence systems and was shown a Ka-52 attack helicopter in action.
He also watched a demonstration of Spetsnaz tactics given by the Russian Army’s special force units.
The Royal Brunei Armed Forces use a wide range of foreign equipment, mostly from Britain, France and the US, but have not yet purchased any Russian equipment.
