KBR has received a $156.7m task order to provide capability enhancements and associated support for the US Army’s existing UH-60V Black Hawk helicopter fleet.

It has been awarded as part of the multiple-award contract (MAC) vehicle of the US Department of Defense Information Analysis Centre (DoD IAC).

The task orders under the IAC are handled by the US Air Force Installation Contracting Center’s 774th Enterprise Sourcing Squadron.

As part of the new award, KBR will work together with Northrop Grumman to develop technical solutions for the Utility Helicopter Project Office, assigned under the US Army’s Programme Executive Office Aviation, and its international partners.

The scope of work for KBR also requires the company to carry out reliability, maintainability, quality, supportability, and interoperability activities, along with delivering logistics and evaluation support.

In addition, KBR will also provide validation and programme management, sustainability improvement, prototyping, and lifecycle analyses support to the service.

The related work is expected to provide technological superiority and improve the availability and reliability of the existing fleet of the Army’s Utility Helicopter 60 variant while minimising the overall support costs.

The contract has a performance period of five years, and the associated work will be carried out at KBR and Northrop Grumman’s facilities in Huntsville, Alabama, US.
