AAR will upgrade and modify Egypt’s integrated air defence command and control system under a contract awarded by the US Army Aviation and Missile Command.
Under the $8m contract, AAR will replace the aging electronic components of the system with advanced solid-state circuitry to increase reliability and long-term operability while minimising obsolescence issues and maintenance costs.
The integrated air defence command and control system is a single command and control, communication, computer, intelligence and battle management (C4I/BM) network designed to integrate airborne and land-based air defences.
The upgrades will be performed by AAR Precision Systems located in Huntsville, Alabama.
AAR is currently under contract to support the Egyptian Government on a separate engineering services programme administered through the US Army.
