Marshall Land Systems has announced the delivery of ten specialist military vehicles to the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) under its GASKET 3 fleet programme.
The company has supplied the first batch of explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and electronic countermeasure (ECM) vehicles under the MoD contract.
The contract seeks to replace the UK’s Wedgewood MoD vehicle fleet and involves development, prototyping, and testing, as well as the production of 120 vehicles.
The new vehicles will be deployed across the UK, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, and Gibraltar.
As many as eight vehicle variants will be delivered to help troopers address operational situations.
Marshall Land Systems managing director Gary Moynehan said: “This programme has not been a straightforward one for us, made even more difficult by the disruption caused by Covid-19 and the conflict in Ukraine.

By GlobalData“Reaching this point has taken incredibly hard work from a large number of people, and I would like to say thank you to them. We should all take pride in helping enhance a critical UK capability.”
The new vehicles under the GASKET 3 fleet programme are part of a £60m project that includes a wide range of vehicles, from first response fleets to 4×4 medium scale vehicles.
After holding consultations with the soldiers concerned, the MoD has announced the new GASKET 3 bomb disposal vehicle’s initial operating capability.
The GASKET 3 will be used by the 11 Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Search Regiment and the Diving Threat Exploitation Group of the Royal Navy.
621 Squadron, Royal Logistics Corps corporal Briscoe said: “The new GASKET vehicle is great, a massive improvement on our current vehicle.
“We did notice our Vehicle-Borne IED disruptor could be in a better place for quick access and our suggestions were included in the final design.”
