UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has proposed to initiate and spearhead a training programme for the Ukrainian armed forces.
Boris Johnson discussed the plan with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his visit to Kyiv recently.
The programme offers to prepare the Ukrainian soldiers to deal with challenging circumstances. It seeks to provide training to as many as 10,000 soldiers every 120 days.
Johnson said: “My visit today, in the depths of this war, is to send a clear and simple message to the Ukrainian people: the UK is with you, and we will be with you until you ultimately prevail.
“Two months on from my last visit, the Ukrainian grit, determination, and resilience is stronger than ever, and I know that unbreakable resolve will long outlive the vain ambitions of President Putin.”
The training also proposes to help the armed forces expedite deployment and enhance resistance to stop Russian forces from entering their territories.
