IT jobs accounted for a 6.61% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in May 2022, registering an increase of 0.58% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 43.48% in May 2022, a 41.18% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 39.13% in May 2022, marking a 350% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 8.7% in May 2022, a 33.33% drop from April 2022.

Elbit Systems posted 9 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a decline of 18.18% over the previous month, followed by Vectrus with 7 jobs and a 600% growth. Airbus with 1 IT job and Leidos Holdings with 1 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Lockheed Martin recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during May 2022.

Israel commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 39.13% share in May 2022, a 40% decrease over April 2022. Kuwait featured next with a 26.09% share, up 500% over the previous month. United Arab Emirates recorded an 8.7% share, a growth of 100% compared with April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.91%, up by 6.25% from April 2022. Entry Level positions with a 21.74% share, registered a growth of 25% compared with the previous month.
