The US Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command has awarded a contract to Oshkosh to refurbish an additional 140 vehicles and trailers in theatre for the US Army.
Under the Theatre-Provided Equipment Refurbishment (TPER) programme, Oshkosh will work with the Army to refurbish its Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Trucks and Heavy Equipment Transporters.
The TPER programme is aimed at restoring tactical battle-damaged vehicles to full mission-capable operability to meet the military’s strict equipment-readiness standards.
The vehicles are a part of the Army’s Family of Heavy Tactical Vehicles, which also includes the Oshkosh-produced Palletised Load System.
The company will also refurbish M1000 HET Trailers and has refurbished nearly 1,500 heavy vehicles and trailers for the Army to date.
According to the terms of the $11m order, work will take place at the company’s facility in Kuwait until May 2011.
