By GlobalDataAccording to a statement, the personnel are working as part of the International Donor Co-ordination Centre (IDCC) in Germany to coordinate the delivery of donated military aid to Ukraine.
A Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) C-130 Hercules has also started transporting consignments of military equipment to forward staging points in Europe last week.
Currently, the aircraft is based at the Royal Air Force base at Brize Norton, UK. It is expected to transport additional materiel in the coming weeks.
Commander Joint Forces New Zealand Rear Admiral Jim Gilmour said: “Our personnel are professionally carrying out their duties, coordinating well with personnel from other nations on the logistics and transportation of donor contributions.”
In March, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced that it will send military staff to Europe amid the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.
NZDF personnel is also associated with intelligence and engagement work without participating in the conflict directly.
In a separate development, Russia claimed that it had destroyed a military warehouse in Ukraine’s southwestern city of Odesa. The centre is said to have contained drones, missiles and ammunition supplied by foreign countries, reported Reuters.
According to the Russian defence ministry, the military used high-precision Onyx missiles to hit the site.
Russia has been using missiles to strike military targets across Ukraine. Last month, it used Kalibr missiles to destroy an arms depot in the Zaporizhzhia region.
