European missile producer MBDA subsidiary MBDA UK has signed an agreement regarding the schedule and terms of delivery of the Narew air defence system components.
As agreed, MBDA will provide Poland’s PGZ-Narew consortium with CAMM missiles and iLaunchers. These systems will be integrated with a Polish radar station and C2 communication and command system.
The financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
MBDA UK managing director Chris Allam said: “MBDA is proud to be part of such an important programme for the protection of Polish skies together with our Polish partners from the Polish Armaments Group.
“This rapid initial Narew project demonstrates MBDA’s agility to respond to urgent needs and develop sovereign system solutions in rapid timescales. We are already working to deliver the first systems to Poland as well as addressing the wider Narew programme of technology transfer and Polish manufacture.”
The Common Anti Air Modular Missile (CAMM) is a surface-to-air missile that can destroy different aerial threats, including stealth aircraft and high-speed missiles.
