The US is set to sell equipment, training, and other items to support Taiwan’s Patriot Air Defense System.
The $95m possible foreign military sale (FMS) was approved by the US State Department.
The move comes after the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO), in the US, requested contractor technical assistance support for the Patriot system.
According to a Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) statement, the scope of the support services will include training, planning, fielding, deployment, operation, maintenance, and sustainment of the Patriot Air Defense System.
It will also include delivering associated equipment, logistical support, and Patriot ground support equipment.
Raytheon Technologies in Andover, Massachusetts, will be the primary contractor.
