The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 8.55% in January 2022 when compared with December 2022.
Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 26.94% share in January 2022, recording a decrease of 0.66% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 18.55% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s aerospace, defence & security industry during January 2022 over December 2022.
The Boeing posted 1,246 IT jobs in January 2022 and registered a drop of 30.08% over the previous month, followed by Lockheed Martin with 643 jobs and a 69.21% growth. Leidos Holdings with 578 IT jobs and L3Harris Technologies with 559 jobs, recorded a 1.23% growth and a 52.02% decrease, respectively, while General Dynamics recorded an increase of 58.25% with 307 job postings during January 2022.
Mid Level job postings dominate in January 2022
Mid Level jobs held a share of 41.27%, down by 23.05% from December 2022. Junior Level positions with a 40.55% share, registered a decline of 9.97% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 17.79% share, down 18.51% over December 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.38%, recording a month-on-month decline of 45.45%.
