January 2022 has seen a decrease of 2.03% in the overall hiring activity when compared with December 2022.
IT jobs accounted for an 18.35% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in January 2022, registering an increase of 0.9% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in January 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 79.58% in January 2022, a 39.23% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 12.4% in January 2022, marking a 16.07% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 5.53% in January 2022, a 61.11% rise from December 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 73.71% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s auto industry during January 2022 over previous month.
Robert Bosch posted 301 IT jobs in January 2022 and registered an increase of 37.44% over the previous month, followed by Mahindra & Mahindra with 106 jobs and a 2020% growth. Chongqing Changan Automobile with 101 IT jobs and Continental with 54 jobs, recorded a 40.28% rise and a 74.19% rise, respectively, while Visteon recorded a 100% increase with 46 job postings during January 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s auto industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 50.48% share in January 2022, a 71.2% increase over December 2022. China featured next with a 36.07% share, up 12.84% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 4.1% share, a growth of 7.5% compared with December 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in January 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.17%, up by 33.74% from December 2022. Mid Level positions with a 30.73% share, registered a growth of 47.03% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.01% share, down 24.1% over December 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.1%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
