The French defence procurement agency (DGA) has placed additional orders with Cassidian for DRAC mini-unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and systems for the French Army.
The DRAC mini-UAV close-range reconnaissance system, developed for the French Army, is intended to enhance the intelligence seeking and reconnaissance capabilities of front-line army units.
Each system consists of two UAVs equipped with payloads, a compact ground station and an automatic tracking antenna for conducting fully autonomous missions.
The DRAC system has been in operational service with French Army units deployed in Afghanistan since October 2010.
