The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 8.41% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.
Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 27.15% share in December 2021, recording a decrease of 0.15% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.73% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s aerospace, defence & security industry in December 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 54.94% in December 2021, registering a 21.08% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a 19.71% share, a decrease of 37.72% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 13.2%, registering a 34.8% decline from November 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 5.39%, down 32.59% over the previous month.
Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 32.53% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s aerospace, defence & security industry during December 2021 over November 2021.
The Boeing posted 1,410 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a drop of 33.46% over the previous month, followed by L3Harris Technologies with 1,104 jobs and a 168.61% growth. Leidos Holdings with 544 IT jobs and Raytheon Technologies with 529 jobs, recorded a 17.33% decline and a 71.34% decrease, respectively, while Lockheed Martin recorded a decline of 55.08% with 380 job postings during December 2021.
Mid Level job postings dominate in December 2021
Mid Level jobs held a share of 44.6%, down by 27.69% from November 2021. Junior Level positions with a 36.08% share, registered a decline of 32.26% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.72% share, down 27.28% over November 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.59%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
