India’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered a 9.6% drop in IT hiring activity in December 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 9.86% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.

Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 50.63% share in December 2021, recording a decrease of 2.14% over the last three-month average share.

 

Top five job classifications in India’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.78% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s aerospace, defence & security industry in December 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 79.78% in December 2021, registering a 38.17% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 12.9% share, a decrease of 11.76% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 3.66%, registering a 54.55% rise from November 2021.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 1.94%, down 60.87% over the previous month.

 

Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 33.77% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s aerospace, defence & security industry during December 2021 over November 2021.

The Boeing posted 302 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a drop of 37.73% over the previous month, followed by Elettronica with 107 jobs and a 2.88% growth. Raytheon Technologies with 25 IT jobs and Thales with 14 jobs, recorded a 60.32% decline and a 46.15% decrease, respectively, while Diehl StiftungKG recorded a decline of 16.67% with 5 job postings during December 2021.

Mid Level job postings dominate in December 2021

Mid Level jobs held a share of 53.12%, down by 45.11% from November 2021. Junior Level positions with a 44.52% share, registered a decline of 9.21% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 2.37% share, down 63.33% over November 2021.
