Harris Corporation has unveiled new upgraded software to enhance the Falcon III AN/PRC-117G multiband manpack radio system capability in network-enabled missions.
The new software provides two significant capabilities to the adaptive wideband networking waveform (ANW2), which is currently deployed to Afghanistan in the AN/PRC-117G.
The first capability provides increased flexibility to tactical commanders in planning and managing missions on a single, integrated network.
The ANW2 30-node networking mode expands the area of network coverage in the field with improved command and control, and collaboration.
The second ANW2 capability is the sky mode that will provide for a broad range of airborne applications, including sharing data with ground units while a mission is underway.
Harris RF Communications department of defence business president Brendan O’Connell said, “These enhancements will deliver more mission flexibility, broader collaboration and enhanced situational awareness to the tactical edge.”
