BAE Systems has entered into two teaming agreements with Thales Canada and DEW Engineering for the Canadian Army’s Tactical Armoured Patrol Vehicle (TAPV) programme.
According to the teaming arrangement, BAE would offer a comprehensive in-service support solution to provide optimal operational readiness and availability of the TAPV equipment.
The team will produce a TAPV solution that will provide Canadian Forces with superior protection and in-theatre mobility.
As part of the agreement, DEW will provide design services, add-on-armour and vehicle assembly while Thales will provide Vehicle Electronic Architecture (VEA).
VEA includes a complete combat system suite, as well as design, production material and systems support throughout the life of the programme.
The TAPV programme will provide the Canadian Army with a fleet of next-generation wheeled combat vehicles. The Canadian Department of National Defense expects to award a contract by early 2012.
