AxleTech International has delivered the first drivetrain and suspension components to Force Protection (FPE) for the UK’s new Ocelot vehicle under the light protected patrol vehicle (LPPV) programme.
AxleTech will equip the Ocelot vehicle with its modular 3000 series planetary independent suspension axle system (ISAS) and T232 transfer case.
The ISAS will help the Ocelot vehicle, known as Foxhound, to achieve the mobility requirements of the British Army in all terrains.
The Ocelot is a four-by-four armoured vehicle designed by FPE and Ricardo, which can carry six troops and their equipment.
Deliveries are scheduled to be completed in early 2012.
The UK Ministry of Defence awarded a contract to FPE in November 2010 to build an initial lot of 200 vehicles for the British Army.
