The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) has awarded a five-year $595m indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract to Teledyne Brown Engineering for the Objective Simulation Framework (OSF), which will be the basis for all elements of the missile defence system.

Under the contract, the company will design, develop, test, implement and maintain the OSF that will support in full-scale simulations, ground tests and live fire events.

The OSF will, for the first time, integrate the digital simulation architecture with the single stimulation framework.

The company has also developed the first digital and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) test and assessment capabilities, as well as an OSF prototype to support MDA ballistic missile defence system (BMDS) test and assessment activities.

The BMDS tests and assessments were executed at the company’s headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama, US, and other locations.
