Northrop Grumman’s Meshnet Technology (AMT) has been selected by the US Army to participate in the second Network Integration Evaluation (NIE).
The reliable, secure, affordable high-speed wireless network is interoperable with existing systems and can be utilised in any environment, including operations outside the range of a fixed infrastructure.
The hand-held AMT network device can interface with legacy networks such as the tactical radio system to provide war-fighters with the ability to exchange messages in variable formats.
The AMT works in conjunction with a critical situational awareness and command-and-control system (C2), the Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below (FBCB2).
The advanced next-generation software version of the FBCB2 has been operational since January 2011, providing soldiers with enhanced C2 and situational awareness.
