The US has conducted airstrikes in Afghanistan to support the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF), which is fighting Taliban insurgents.
The airstrikes were confirmed by Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby in a press briefing. However, he declined to provide specific details of the operations.

Kirby told reporters: “Without speaking to specifics, I can say that in the last several days, we have acted through airstrikes to support the ANDSF but I won’t get into tactical details of those strikes.
“But we continue to be able to and we continue to, as the secretary said yesterday, conduct airstrikes in support of the ANDSF.”
According to a Reuters report, the latest airstrikes were carried out on the outskirts of the southern city of Kandahar.
Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid told the news agency that the raid killed three of their fighters and destroyed two vehicles.
