Power management firm Eaton has completed the acquisition of air-to-air refuelling systems manufacturer Cobham Mission Systems for $2.8bn.
Cobham has been acquired from the private equity firm Advent International. The acquisition plan was announced earlier this year.

Cobham Mission Systems has more than five decades of experience designing and developing military aircraft countermeasure equipment. It also manufactures environmental systems, and actuation, primarily for defence markets.
It operates with a workforce of approximately 2,000 people and has manufacturing facilities in the US and the UK.
The air-to-air refuelling systems maker is the design authority for the Eurofighter Typhoon’s defensive chaff and flare systems.

Eaton’s 2020 revenues stood at $17.9bn. The company employs approximately 94,000 employees and sells products to customers in more than 175 countries.
In January 2015, Eaton won a contract for the modernisation of the electrical infrastructure of the US Army’s temperature test facility, located at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, US.
