Humvee NXT 360 is a next-generation light tactical vehicle manufactured by AM General. Based on the company’s high-mobility multi-purpose wheeled vehicle (HMMWV) platform, the vehicle provides maximum commonality and ensures easy maintenance and efficient fleet sustainment.
The light tactical vehicle was unveiled at the Eurosatory 2018 Defence & Security International Exhibition held in Paris, France, in June 2018.

AM General also showcased the new Humvee NXT 360 ES rugged light tactical vehicle, a variant of the NXT 360, at the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) event held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in February 2021.
NXT 360 vehicle design and features
The NXT 360 tactical vehicle features proprietary technology, which allows for 360° kinetic energy threat protection and blast protection. It offers improved survivability as it includes under-vehicle blast protection, transparent armour, blast seats, and floating floor.
The platform has a gross vehicle weight of 6,396kg and can provide increased payload capacity of up to 7,100kg, due to suspension upgrade. A digital video camera fitted to the vehicle provides 60° to 120° field of view live feed of the outside environment, while eliminating the need for heavy transparent armour on rear passenger doors. The real-time video is transmitted to the ruggedised low-latency high-definition LED display situated inside the vehicle.
NXT 360 can be configured into two, four and six-passenger versions based on the requirement. It will also have the capacity to carry payload for personnel, and mission equipment.
The tactical armoured vehicle is available as a completely new vehicle or as an upgraded kit for integration into existing vehicle fleets. It is offered in two variants – base model and ES.
The vehicle provides greater protection, increased payload capacity, and better handling performance. It is designed to offer increased survivability, enhanced off-road mobility and stopping capability, and greater power.
NXT 360 engine
The NXT 360 platform is powered by a 205hp 6.5l V8 turbocharged diesel engine. It is coupled to a four-speed electronically controlled transmission system and a two-speed transfer case.
Mobility
The NXT 360 light tactical vehicle has a maximum speed of 161km/h. It will have the capability to hold 95l of fuel, offering a range of up to 402km. The vehicle can negotiate grades of 60% and side slope of 30%. With 43.7cm of ground clearance, the vehicle can cross vertical obstacles of up to 30.5cm.
The approach angle, departure angle and ramp breakover angle of the vehicle are 48°, 37° and 25° respectively. Larger tires of the platform ensure increased traction and reduced ground pressure, while providing improved ride.
The tactical vehicle can be fitted with an optional anti-lock brake system (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, and autonomous break control interface based on customer requirement.
It has the ability to offer superior off-road mobility with improved speed, agility, and mobility on all rugged terrains in different weather conditions.
NXT 360 ES variant
The all-terrain NXT 360 ES, the latest evolution of the Humvee family, features a long travel suspension for increased agility and manoeuvrability over difficult terrains. It can be transported easily through land, sea, and air.
The vehicle has a gross weight of 7,030kg. The ES model will be powered by a 6.5L V8 turbocharged engine which generates a power output of 250hp. It comes integrated with an electronically-controlled six-speed transmission, ABS, ESC, and traction control.
