The US State Department has approved a possible foreign military sale that involves modernising 76 M2A2 Operation Desert Storm (ODS) Bradley Fighting vehicles of Croatia.
Estimated to cost $757m, the deal also includes the delivery of associated equipment.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency has also notified the US Congress about the sale.
The move comes after the Government of Croatia requested overhauling and necessary support for 76 M2A2 ODS Bradley Fighting vehicles.
Overall, the deal includes 84 M240 machine guns, 1,103 TOW 2A Radio Frequency (RF) missiles, 16 TOW 2A Radio Frequency (RF) fly‑to‑buy lot acceptance missiles, 100 TOW 2B RF missiles, eight TOW 2B RF fly-to-buy lot acceptance missiles, 500 TOW Bunker Buster (BB) RF missiles, as well as eight TOW BB fly-to-buy lot acceptance missiles.
It also includes M257 Smoke Grenade Launchers, ammunition, radios, simulator, special armour, spare and repair parts and support equipment.

By GlobalDataCroatia also requested upgrade and maintenance of engines and transmissions of the vehicles, refurbishment of TOW launchers, communication support equipment, depot-level support, tool and test equipment, and associated training.
Refurbishment of the Bradley Fighting vehicles is expected to enhance Croatia’s military capability and increase its interoperability with the US and other allied forces.
BAE Systems and Raytheon Missile Systems will be the prime contractors.
Separately, the state department has also approved a potential foreign military sale of up to 300 M1152 High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs) and related equipment to Lebanon. The deal is valued at $55.5m.
The US agency also approved another possible foreign military sale that involves providing US Security Assistance Office (SAO) support services to Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense for an additional five years. This is expected to cost around $350m.
