The US Navy has cancelled all E-4 exams planned as part of the Active Duty (AD) and Full-Time Support (FTS) Cycle 248, as well as the Selected Reserve (SELRES) Cycle 107. The exams were slated to be held in September this year. The service has also planned to rank order advancement-eligible E-3 sailors using an alternative Final Multiple Score method. The E-5 and E6 exams are being planned to be administered in separate testing windows throughout next month.
The last group of US Marines in the Northern Territory have been released from Covid-19 quarantine. In total, over 1,000 marines have completed quarantine following their arrival as part of this year’s Marine Rotational Force – Darwin (MRF-D). Australian Defence Minister Linda Reynolds said: “The discharge of the final group of personnel from quarantine demonstrates the effectiveness of the testing and monitoring regime established with the Northern Territory Government. The regime of screening, quarantine and testing underscores the priority placed on protecting the local community from Covid-19.”
The Indian Army has gifted ten ICU ventilators to the Nepali Army as part of continued humanitarian cooperation between the two armies. The ventilators are portable and easily transportable and will help Nepali Army in its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and care for patients requiring intensive care. The devices can be deployed for secondary care in hospitals with ICU, tertiary multispecialty hospitals and dedicated ICUs. They can be used for a wide range of applications such as advanced invasive or non-invasive respiratory support.
