The US Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) has opened for field training at Maxwell Air Force Base (AFB) in Alabama this summer. About 1,152 cadets are attending the training that is held annually. It is an assessment tool considered essential by Air Education and Training Command to help assess a cadet’s overall development in becoming a commissioned officer. Cadets will be put through three training cycles MAX A, B and C. the last cycle will end on 20 August.
China has donated Covid-19 related medical devices to Serbia military health system to support their fight against the pandemic. Serbian Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin took delivery of the equipment. According to a press release issued by the Serbian Government, the donation included 40 non-invasive ventilators, 20 vital signs monitors, 30 infusion pumps, five portable infrared thermometers and six thermal imaging helmets. It is said that the aid is worth nearly $8,59,400. Currently, the Serbian Army is constructing mobile and temporary hospitals.
Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) students have developed a new dashboard that will help in tracking Covid-19 cases. Known as COVID-19 Health Assessment Dashboard (CHAD), the predictive modelling app provides updated pandemic information and situational awareness to AF leadership specific to military installations and the surrounding local areas. It has been developed after AF requested Covid-19 analysis support from AFIT. CHAD gathers real-time data for hospitals, cases, and deaths, as well as provides charts, maps, and tables with the information of interest.
