Patria and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace have partnered for the future US Army turreted mortar programmes.
The teaming agreement will see the combination of Kongsberg’s US remote weapons systems (RWS) engineering and production capability and Patria’s experience in mortar systems.
The partnership will focus on the promotion and manufacturing of the light, compact 120mm turreted remote-controlled mortar system, Patria Nemo, in the US market.
With both direct and indirect fire capability, Nemo can execute up to six grenade multiple rounds simultaneous impact (MRSI) fire missions at the same time on the target.
Additionally, Patria Nemo can be easily installed on wheeled armoured vehicles in the 6×6/8×8 class or navy vessels.
Kongsberg’s existing RWS production plants in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, will be used for Nemo’s manufacture to the US market.
