FMS Enterprises is planning to introduce its next-generation ballistic helmet shell at the 2013 LAAD Defence and Security International Exhibition, scheduled for 9 to 12 April in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Weighing approximately 1,250g, the new helmet shell is designed to provide troops with superior ballistic protection against a wide range of rifle rounds such as 5.56mm and 7.62mm lead core cartridges, as well as Tokarev 7.62mm pistol steel core rounds during combat operations.

Manufactured using specially designed high-performance polyethylene (HPPE) unidirectional (UD) materials, the shell demonstrates full compliance with the MIL-STD-662F requirements, as well as addresses the National Institute of Justice’s (NIJ) ballistic standards.
FMS Enterprises marketing and business development vice-president Oren Gruber said: "Offering new level of protection, this life-saving helmet incorporates the latest technology in ballistic composite construction and advanced ergonomic design to maximize protection and comfortably integrate with other personal protection systems such as body armour."
Capable of withstanding exposure to chemicals and water, the shells are available in both personnel armour system for ground troops (PASGT) and modular integrated communications helmet (MICH) shapes to improve the soldier’s aural perception assist in acquiring a sight picture.
The shells can also be provided with a thin Aramid cover to enable simple and efficient painting of the complete helmet.
