BAE Systems has presented a version of the BvS10 all-terrain support vehicle designed using Generic Vehicle Architecture (GVA) approach to improve situational awareness for crews.
The company carried out a technology upgrade in the BvS10 to meet the needs of potential future users in the European markets.
The new BvS10 variant features GVA equivalent system that will allow streamlining of information load.
The upgrade is intended to enhance the vehicle’s operational capability and ensure compliance with the Nato GVA standard for operating systems in military vehicles.
GVA enables interoperability and future growth potential with the addition of new subsystems.
BAE Systems Hägglunds Business Development head Peter Nygren said: “Using a GVA approach to operate in a single information environment can protect crews from information overload and encourage them to work better together.

By GlobalData“As we look to the future of extreme mobility vehicles like the BvS10, it is clear that optimised, tailored mission systems will be a critical differentiator for many militaries.”
Upgrade under the GVA approach involves creating an integrated system by standardising multiple user interfaces.
The model will provide crews with reduced training times and improved agility.
In addition, the presence of cameras and monitors at the front and back will ensure increased communication capacity for the crew.
The BvS10 vehicle is designed to support operations in challenging environments and terrains, as well as extreme temperatures. It also provides an amphibious capability.
The platform is part of the BAE Systems Hägglunds family of all-terrain vehicles. It can be used in missions ranging from delivering personnel or cargo in combat to disaster relief operations.
Operators of BvS10 include Austria, France, Sweden, the Netherlands and the UK.
