Loc Performance has received a US Army contract to upgrade mobility on the Bradley fighting vehicle.
The $161m firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract has been awarded by the US Army TACOM Lifecycle Management Command.
Under the contract, Loc Performance will provide engineering change proposal (ECP-1) vehicle modifications by installing track kits, shock absorber kits, vehicle suspension support system kits, and heavy weight torsion bar kits.
Loc Performance Products president Lou Burr said: "This is a game-changer, and it is going to nearly double the size of our company.
"It positions Loc for additional growth in support of other ECP combat vehicle modifications such as those that would benefit from Loc’s final-drive technology, currently under development through an army small-business innovative research (SBIR) phase II contract."
The company will also be responsible for logistics support, including vehicle inspections and new equipment training, as well as a 10km road test for each upgraded vehicle.

By GlobalDataBurr added: "Because this was a full and open competition, the army saves taxpayers millions of dollars, and demonstrates a new model for cost-effective procurement.
"Loc Performance, operating as a small business since 1971, has remained successful by providing excellent quality at competitive pricing with flexibility that simply cannot be matched by larger organisations.
"We look forward to restoring lost mobility to the Bradley fighting vehicle, and providing this superior equipment to our warfighters."
Loc will upgrade the vehicles at Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Carson, Colorado, Fort Stewart, Georgia, and Fort Riley, Kansas, US.
