The US Army is storing equipment from its European Activity Set (EAS) at three locations in Lithuania, Bulgaria and Romania, to support Operation Atlantic Resolve.
The US Army Europe (USAREUR) and Army Materiel Command (AMC) will store vehicles and equipment at Novo Selo Training Area in Bulgaria, Mumaiciai in Lithuania, and Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base in Romania.

The EAS consists of roughly 12,000 pieces of equipment, used by US-based rotational forces for training in Europe.
Following a mid-2014 announcement, the US Department of Defense (DoD) has signed agreements with respective host nations.
The agreement with the allies will see transportation of 70 pieces of equipment to Romania, 500 to Bulgaria, and 200 to Lithuania.
The US Army claimed the decision followed extensive research into equipment and personnel training requirements, such as base infrastructure facilities, and proximity to training locations supportive of the EAS Positioning Concept.
Operation Atlantic Resolve is a combined US and Nato effort in response to Russia’s actions in Ukraine.
