US-based Modern Technology Solutions (MTSI) has secured a contract to support the US Department of Defense’s (DoD) Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO).
Valued at $22m, the contract requires the company to provide technical engineering support services to the US Army.
MTSI president and CEO Kevin Robinson said: "MTSI’s support to SCO is a key example of the specialised technical work we do to help the government address emerging security threats to the nation.
SCO focuses on developing US military capabilities to defeat near-peer adversaries, as well as strategies for engaging future threats.
US Defense Secretary Ash Carter said: "I created the SCO in 2012 when I was deputy secretary of defence to help us to re-imagine existing DOD and intelligence community and commercial systems by giving them new roles and game-changing capabilities to confound potential enemies, the emphasis here was on rapidity of fielding, not ten and 15-year programmes.
"Thinking differently in this way – as is well known in US defence history – put us in space, our country on the moon, computers in the pockets, information at the fingertips – all of that.
