Rheinmetall has obtained orders to supply ammunition and accessories for the Bundeswehr, Germany’s unified armed forces.
Valued at more than €12m, the orders require the company to supply 10,000 rounds of 30mm x 173mm armour-piercing ammunition for the Puma infantry fighting vehicle (IFV).
The Puma IFV will replace the Marder IFVs currently in service with the Bundeswehr.
Delivery of 350 Puma IFVs ordered by the Bundeswehr will be complete by the end of this decade.
Projekt System Management (PSM), a joint venture of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Rheinmetall Landsysteme, will deliver the IFVs.
Rheinmetall will also modify a system gun rest for the vehicle, as well as supply special tools and spare parts to the Bundeswehr.
