Saab has selected Telephonics Corporation to supply its SFF-44A identification friend or foe (IFF) interrogator system.
Under the contract, the SFF-44A will be integrated into Saab’s ground-based Giraffe agile multi-beam (AMB) radar platform.

The system will provide a clear surveillance picture, allowing the user to make quick tactical decisions while protecting against air threats.
Telephonics COO Kevin McSweeney said: "Telephonics SFF-44A is extremely well suited for the rugged environmental operations of the Giraffe AMB and will support the end user to effectively manage an ever-changing air surveillance picture.
"Telephonics looks forward to strengthening our relationship with Saab, following the integration of our industry-leading IFF technologies with Saab’s world class radar systems."
Deliveries under the contract will begin early next year.
