Polish electronic systems and military equipment manufacturer Wojskowe Zaklady Elektroniczne (WZE) has selected Honeywell’s navigation technology in a bid to improve Polish military defence capabilities.
Honeywell’s tactical advanced land inertial navigator (TALIN) system will be fitted on the Polish Armed Forces’ fleet of 96 Rak 120mm mortar turret and command vehicles.
This inertial navigation system will enhance the mobility of ground forces and improve defensive operations.
Suitable for GPS-denied environments, TALIN navigation systems are built with high-accuracy ring laser-gyro systems and accelerometers for both military and commercial applications.
These systems provide position and velocity information to the crews of tactical military vehicles, such as battle tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and armoured personnel carriers, in high-shock and GPS-denied environments.
According to Honeywell, an inertial sensor package provides improved situational awareness on the battlefield by displaying information in three dimensions, including forward / backwards, up / down and left / right.
