The US Army Space and Missile Defense Command has awarded a contract to Leidos to provide technical solutions for countering narcoterrorism.
Leidos is one of four contractors eligible to compete for work under the multiple-award indefinite-delivery / indefinite-quantity contract, which is valued at around $480m.
The company will support the Counter-Narcoterrorism Technology Program Office (CNTPO) over a two-year base period, with the contract also offering two option years.
Leidos will supply technical solutions and support for command, control, communications, information, detection and monitoring systems.
It will aim to disrupt and degrade national security threats posed by drug trafficking, piracy, transnational organised crime, and threat finance networks related to illicit drug trafficking activities.
Leidos Group president John Fratamico said: "We're proud to apply our advanced technical solutions in support of the Counter-Narcoterrorism Technology Program Office to stem the flow of international drug trafficking.”
